The Decent Work Ambassadors team conducted 5 new sessions during the past two months in different governorates in the country about work and employment issues as follows:
3 sessions in Karak about creating a decent work environment for people with disabilities. One of those sessions was at Space-Telescope, one at Hassan Cultural Center and the last one at the Little Genius Center.
One session at Landmark Hotel in Amman about decent work and sexual harassment in the work environment.
One session in the business incubator at Ajloun about decent work and creating a decent work environment for people with disabilitiesز
The Improvement and Follow-up team visited two establishments that employ women and people with disabilities. Those sessions aim to give advice and guidance to the visited establishments to improve the work environment to better fit the employees by offering a recommendation paper for the facility by the team. Those recommendations are not mandatory for the managers, but a voluntary service aiming to improve their environment for their employees. The establishments visited are: Fada Space for youth in Karak governorate.
Sail Al-Hasa Highschool in Al-Tafila governorate.
*It is possible for those who want to benefit from this voluntary service to contact us to plan a visit.
The decent work ambassadors’ sessions and the improvement and follow-up team’s visits are a part of the Decent Work Academy Project at East and West Center for Sustainable Development in partnership with the Swedish Development Partner (IM).
