This Year is focused on the theme of countering/preventing violence and harassment at the workplace.
The activities of this year as below:
1.-Activate the “online” service on the Online Resource Centre (ORC) which is called “legal consultancy”: this legal consultancy includes Cases of harassment in the work environment and other violations of workers’ rights for women and PWDs through filling a form on the website with specific questions that help them to explain their problem and what they exactly need, where people can ask for legal consultancy(provides professional legal advice, evaluate the case, what they have to do, where they can go, with who exactly can contact, if they have a right and gain something or not … etc.) and not for legal assistance (provision of assistance to people who are unable to afford legal representation and access to the court system, is regarded as central in providing access to justice by ensuring equality before the law, the right to counsel and the right to a fair trial.), and report cases to be documented and shared on different platforms. After receiving the cases will send them to the lawyer (every 10 cases or at the end of each month ( based on what happened first) to put his/her comment on it (legal consultancy) and then the lawyer will send them to us and after that, we will send the answer to the sender. We will share a number of cases as a question and answer on social media so other people can take advantage.
Note: This service will continue for the next two years.
2-Carry out 2 training workshops for the first regiment of young women: training for each group for 2 days on the workers’ rights and decent work conditions from different aspects, especially with regard to their category, In addition to the international conventions of human rights related to work, especially (the International Covenant for Economic and Social Rights), Gender, 190 Convention at work, 2019 (No. 190) which approved by the International Labor Conference. Note: we added males to those training because they are one of the main components in communities and we can’t separate them and talk about an issue without integrating them, men are a main part of the harassment and violence process, in addition to that they are facing violence and harassment even if it’s less than women cases. So, Men and women must all address and counter gender, violence, and harassment issues in order to achieve sustainable development.
